The Khaos group launches the KOSMOS project to promote secure and reliable data sharing in Europe
The Khaos research group, belonging to the Institute of Software Technology and Engineering of the University of Malaga, has held the kick-off meeting of the KOSMOS project, promoting federated data sharing ecosystems with a multidimensional approach.
The project aims to revolutionize how organizations share and use data, fostering trust, interoperability and sovereignty in data spaces, a key element within the European Data Strategy and the continent’s digital economy.
With a multidisciplinary approach, KOSMOS integrates artificial intelligence, semantic technologies, data analytics, cybersecurity, quality management, and risk management to address the major challenges currently facing data sharing. Among the solutions to be developed are:
- Management of complex and heterogeneous metadata.
- Advanced analytics tools and federated learning.
- Mechanisms to guarantee the quality, security and privacy of data.
- Standards that promote interoperability and strengthen trust.
The purpose of the project is clear: to lay the foundations for a future in which federated data sharing ecosystems are secure, scalable, and generate a high social and economic impact.
